Internships...
Who
GCH seeks young men and women at least 18 years of age for our
internship program. They must be committed Christians who are
spiritually and emotionally mature. They must also be flexible,
hard-working, self-initiators, who receive direction with a great
attitude. Interns must have prior experience volunteering in their
local church and ministering to children. Basic Spanish is helpful, but
not required.
What
Interns help the house parents provide for the daily care of the
children and running the homes. Some duties include: supervising/
playing with children, organizing activities, housing cleaning, meal
preparation and serving, help with babies, assisting in children’s
hygiene and health, assisting volunteers who visit the program,
homework help & education, grounds maintenance, organizing
supplies, encouraging spiritual growth and good behavior, etc.
When
Interns commit to time periods from 2 to 12 months. They work long days
with Sundays off.
Where
GCH is located in Southern Tijuana. Interns live in the group
homes with the children.
Why
At GCH we believe that the internship program serves two purposes.
First, serving the Lord in this manner provides a life changing
ministry opportunity to young men and women. Second, interns
provide positive role models for our children at GCH. They
demonstrate what it looks like to be a young adult with a passion to
serve the Lord.
